virya dvara. chunban ke dauran lar dvara. rogagrast manushya ke khun dvara. nashe ke lie ek hi sirinj ke upyog dvara. eds ke lakshana: eds ke aranbhik lakshan bare samanya hote hain aur anya rogon ke bhi yahi lakshan hone se eds ka sandeh nahin hota. atah nimn lakshan ubhrne par parikshan karvana avashyak hai: vajan men kami, jiske karan ka pata n lage. lasika granthiyon men sujan. gale men, janghon men, bagal men suji hui ganthen. rah-rah kar jvar ana. rat men sharir pasine se tar hona. bar-bar patle dast ana, jo davaen dene par bhi purn rup se thik n hane. munh aur ann nalika men safed dag tatha chale. dhire-dhire jaise-jaise rog barhta jata hai, eds ka rogi kshay, nimoniya, kainsar jaise bhayanak rogon se grasit ho jata hai. kyonki davaen asar nahin kartin, islie ant men rogi ki virya nirmit tatha paripusht hote hain. virya se pure sharir men vyapt hone aur rahne vala adhi anguli ka oj sare manviya gunon ka khajana hai. is oj ke karyon ka shastron men ullekh hai. sushrut ke matanusar ras adi saton dhatuon ka antim satva ya tej oj hai. yahi bal hai. bal ka arth shakti nahin. oj ya bal se hi sharirik manspeshiyon ki sugrhta, har karya ko nirbadh rup se karne ki shakti, vani tatha sharir ke varn ka akarshak hona tatha sabhi bahri aur bhitri karya ka sucharu sanchalan hona sanbhav hota hai. oj adrishya hai. oj kshay mrityu athva mrityu saman sthiti hai. aj ka ‘edsa’ rog isi oj ke kshin hone ka nam hai. eds se bachne ke upay: abhi tak chikitsa vigyan ko eds rog ke vayaras ka mukabla karne vali koi bhi davai nahin mil payi. vigyaniyon ki khoj jari hai. fir bhi yah ek pranghatak rog hai. yaun sanbandh keval ek hi vyakti tak simit rakhen tatha sanbhog ke samay kandom ka upyog sankraman rok sakta hai. hamesha keval ek bar istemal ki jane vali suin aur sirinj ka upyog karen. garbh nirodhak jeli, krim jaise sadhnon ke upyog se bhi jivanuaon ka pravesh ruk sakta hai. purushon ko sanbhog ke bad guptang ko achchi tarah saf karna aur mutra tyag karna chahie. striyan sirf guptang ko pani se svachch karen. andar ke avayav saf karne ke lie pani ka dush n len. pati-patni vyabhichar ya svechchachar se dur rahen, to eds se bachav ho sakta hai. rakt ki drisht lagnesh trikon ya kendra men ho aur rahu-ketu se prabhavit ya yukt ho, to rog ki sanbhavnaen hoti hain. min lagna: budh lagn men shani se yukt, lagnesh chathe bhav men surya se yukt aur ast ho, chandra-shukra dvitiya bhav men aur mangal ashtam bhav men ho, to rog ki sanbhavnaen hoti hain. uparyukt sabhi yog apni dasha-antardasha aur gochar sthiti se prabhavit ho kar rog utpann karte hain.
