The influence of the twelve mundane houses in connection with the national affairs is as follows. First house : The common people, public health, general conditions of the country and state of home affairs generally. Second house : National exchequer, revenue, stock exchange, banks, commerce and trade. Third house : Railways, traffic returns, stocks and shares, telegraph, telephone, postal affairs, motor, means of traffic, Books, Newspapers and literary concerns. Fourth house : The weather, agriculture, crops, and landed interest, mines, public buildings and the opposition party to the govt. Fifth house : Theatres, music halls, places of amusement, children, education, birth rate, school, Gambling and betting. Sixth house : Sickness, public health, army, navy and all types of working class. Seventh house : Foreign affairs, relations with other powers, war and international disputes, foreign trade, marriages, divorces. Eighth house : Privy council, death rate, suicides Ninth house : Law, courts, judges, judiciary, clergy, religion, commercial powers, sciences shipping and related matters, colonial trade and affairs. Tenth house : The king, royal affairs, government, ruling powers, aristocracy, society. Eleventh house : Parliament, house of commons and legislation. Twelfth house : Prisons, hospitals, asylums, charitable institutions, criminals, spies, secret foes, In mundane Astrology, 1, 4, 7 and 10th houses are considered to be strongest, and carry prime importance thereafter, 2nd, 5th, 8th and 11th house and lastly 3rd, 6th, 9th and 12th houses. The 1st, 3rd, and 9th houses are termed as intellectual houses as they represent the mind of the people. Planets also have a special significance in mundane Astrology, as they represent certain classes of the community in every nation and country. Following are the matters, ruled over by planets. Sun : Represents the king, Nobles, Magistrates, Judges, ministers and all persons in authority. Moon : common people, women in particular, crowds and all waters of a common or public nature. Mars : Mars denotes soldiers, surgeons Noted military and Naval men, war, disputes fire etc. Mercury : Governs the literary world, newspapers, publishers, ambassadors trade and commerce and the intellectual world. Jupiter : Rules the religious matters, judicial world, judges, lawyers, bankers merchants etc. Venus : Rules over the female sex, artists, musicians, marriage, children and births.  Saturn : Elderly people, landowners, farmers, mines, coal and similar produces of the earth.
