shukla pratipda se navmi tithi tak navratra vrat hota hai. ek samay janmejay ne vedavyas ji se pucha- ”he dvi javr! navratra ane par kya karna chahie? vishesh rup se sharatkal ke navratra ka kya vidhan hai? ise savistar batane ki kripa karen.

vyas ji bole- ”rajn! sharatkal aur vasant ritu ke navratra men man bhagvti ki prempurvak vidhi-vidhan se puja karni chahie. sanpurn praniyon ke lie ye donon rituen mahan kashtakari hain. inke prabhav se bahut se pran ai apne pran bhi ganva dete hain. ataev in navratron ke ane par bhagvti chandi ki puja aradhna avashya karen.

ghar men sanpatti ho to kripnta karna anuchit hai. santusht brahmanon dvara hi samyak prakar se karya sanpann ho sakta hai. ath bhujaon vali bhagvti sanatni ki bhi pratishtha karne ka vidhan hai. bhagvti ki pratima ke abhav men navarn mantra se likhe hue yantra ko puja ke lie pith par sthapit kar lena chahie.

nanda tithi arthat pratipda men hast nakshatra ho to us samay ka pujan uttam mana jata hai. upvas vrat, ekbhukt vrat athva nakt vrat kisi bhi ek vrat ka niyam karne ke pashchat puja ki vyavastha karni chahie. havan karne ke lie trikon kund banana chahie athva uttam vedi bhi banayi ja sakti hai, kintu vah bhi trikon hi ho.

panch varsh vali ko rohini, chah varsh vali ko kalika sat varshavali ko chandika, ath varsh vali ko ‘shanbhvi’, nau varsh vali ko durga aur das varsh vali ko subhadra kaha gaya hai. isse upar avastha vali kanya ki puja nahin karni chahie. dukh aur daridrya ke shaman ke lie kumari ki puja karni chahie. bhagvti trimurti ki puja se trivarg arthat dharm, arth aur kam ki siddhi milti hai.

jis raja ko vidya, vijay, rajya evan sukh pane ki abhilasha ho, vah sabhi kamnaen purn karne vali bhagvti kalyani ki nirantar puja kare. shatru ka shaman karne ke lie bhagvti kalika ki bhaktipurvak aradhna karni chahie. bhagvti chandika ki puja se aishvarya evan dhan ki purti hoti hai. kisi ko mohit karne, dukh daridrya ko hatane tatha sangram men vijay pane ke lie bhagvti shanbhvi ki sada puja karni chahie.

sabhi karyon ki siddhi ke lie brahman ki kanya, yuddh men vijay pane ke lie kshatriya ki kanya tatha vyapar men labh ke lie vaishya athva shudra ki kanya ka pujan karna chahie. brahman aur kshatriya brahman ki kanya ki puja karen. vaishya ke lie brahman, kshatriya aur vaishya in tinon varnon ki kanya ki puja ka vidhan hai.

shudra ke lie charon varnon ki kanyaen pujniya hain. shilp karm karne vale log yathayogya apne-apne vansh ki kanyaon ka pujan karen. navratra men pratidin puja karne men asamarth hon to ashtami ke din vishesh rup se pujan karna param avashyak hai. daksh ke yagya ko vidhvans karnevali bhagvti bhadrakali ka avtar ashtami ko hua tha.

uttam gunon ke karan uska nam bhi ‘sushil’ rakh diya gaya tha. daridrata se atyant ghabrakar us bhukhe vaishya ne ek shant svabhav muni se pucha- ”brahmanadevta! tumhari buddhi bari vilakshan hai. meri daridrata nishchayapurvak kaise dur ho sakti hai. mujhe dhan ki ichcha nahin hai. kutunb ka bharn-poshan karne ki shakti mujh men a jae.

meri larki vivah ke yogya ho gai hai.“ us brahman ko bari prasannata hui. usne vaishya se kaha - ”vaishyavr! tum ab shreshth navratra vrat karo. ismen bhagvti jagdanba ki puja, havan aur brahman bhojan karana hoga. bhagvan ram rajya se chyut ho gae the. unhen sita ka viyog ho gaya tha. tab unhonne bhagvti jagdanba ki vidhivat upasna ki. tab unhen janak nandini sita prapt huin.

bhagvan shriram ko dharatal par is prakar ki sukh suvidha is navratra ke prabhav se hi sulabh hui thi. vaishya ne unhe apna guru bana liya. navratra men bhagvti ke mayabij mantra ka vah jap karta raha.
