‘‘lingpuran’’ men gyarah rudron ki
utpatti ka varnan prapt hota hai jo
brahma ji ke bhauhon se utpann hone ke
turant bad hi rudan karne lage.
‘‘shabdastom mahanidhi’’ ke anusar
rudraksh ko ek vriksh ke rup men mana
gaya hai.
‘‘shabdakalpadrum’’ ke anusar rudraksh
ko vriksh ke rup men mante hue uske
kuch paryayvachi nam bhi batae gae hain
jo is prakar hai- sargakshan, shivapriyan,
harakshan, pavnan, bhutnashan v nilkanthaksh
ityadi.
ek anya vivechan ke anusar rudraksh
ek prakar ka fal bij hai jo mala
ke rup men pirokar dharan kiya jata
hai tatha mantra jap ke kam ata hai.
rudraksh ko hindi, bangla, sanskrit,
gujrati, panjabi v marathi bhasha men
rudraksh hi kaha jata hai. kannar,
telgu v tamil men ‘‘rudraksha’ koti’’

ashrubindu sthavar bhav ko prapt ho
gae. ve rudraksh mainne vishnubhakt ko
tatha charon varnon ke longon men bant
diya. prithvi par apne priya rudrakshon
ko manaine gaur desh men utpann kiya.
mathura, ayodhya, lanka, malyachal,
madhyagiri, kashi tatha anya deshon men
bhi unke ankur ugae. ve uttam
rudraksh asankhya pap samuhon ka nash
karne vale tatha shrutiyon ke bhi prerak
hain. meri hi agya se ve brahman,
kshatriya, vaishya tatha shudra jati ke bhed
se is prithvi par prakat hue. rudrakshon
ki hi jati ke shubhaksh bhi hain. un
brahmanadi jati vale rudrakshon ke varn
shvet, rakt, pit tatha krishn janne
chahie. bhog aur moksh ki ichcha
rakhne vale charon varnon ke log aur
visheshtah shivabhakton ko shiv-parvati
ki prasannata ke lie rudraksh ke falon
ko dharan karna chahie. anvle ke
fal ke saman jo rudraksh ho, vah
shreshth bataya gaya he. jo ber ke fal
ke barabar ho use madhyam shreni ka
bataya gaya hai. jo chane ke barabar ho
uski ganna nimnakoti men ki gai
hai. ab iski uttamata ko parkhne
ki yah dusri uttam prakriya batai
jati hai. ise batane ka uddeshya hai

tum bhalibhanti prempurvak is vishay

chota hone par bhi lok men uttam fal
dene vala tatha sukh-saubhagya ki

anvle ke fal ke barabar hota hai vah
samast arishton ka nash karne vala
hota hai. jo ganjafal (ratti) ke
saman bahut chota hota hai vah sanpurn
manorthon ko purn karne vala aur
falon ki siddhi karne vala hota hai.
‘‘devi bhagavat mahapuran’’ ke
anusar - ek samay maharshi narad
ji ne bhagvan shri vishnu se pucha, he
anadya ! kripa karke ap mujhe rudraksh
ke prabhav aur uski vishishtataon
ke sanbandh men batayen jiske karan
rudraksh devta ke saman mahan purush
se pujit hai to iska karan kya
hai? bhagvan vishnu ne kaha ki isi
prakar ka prashn bhagvan kartikey
ji ne bhagvan shiv se kiya tha.
uska uttar jis prakar bhagvan
shiv ne diya use tum dhyanpurvak
suno. bhagvan shiv bole he kartikey
! us paramatatva ke sanbandh men main jo

bar purvakal men tripur namak ek
mahan daitya utpann hua jise koi
bhi jit nahin sakta tha. us daitya
ne brahma, vishnu ityadi sabhi devtaon
ko tiraskrit (upekshit) kar diya to
samast devgnon ne mere pas akar
prarthana ki. tab mainne us daitya ka
vadh karne ke lie devtaon ki
raksha evan vighn ke nash hetu sabhi
devtaon ki shaktiyon ko samanvit
kar divya amogh astra ke nirman
ka vichar banaya. isi ke lie mainne
divya sahastra varshon tak netra band kar
tapasya ki aur jab netra khole to
mere netron se kuch ashrubindu gire. un

unse rudraksh vriksh ki utpatti hui.
‘‘vrihajjabalopnishad ke anusar
- bhrigu rishi ne bhagvan kalagni
rudra se rudraksh utpatti v uske dharan
se kya fal prapt hote hain ke sanbandh men
pucha tab bhagvan kalagni rudra bole
jab mere dvara divya sahastra varshon tak
tap karne ke pashchat tripurasur ka
vadh karne ke lie jaise hi netra khole
to unse is dhara par ashrujal gira
jisse yah rudraksh vriksh utpann hue.
is prakar anya granthon men bhi bhagvan
shiv ke netron se gire ashruon se hi
rudraksh ki utpatti batai gai hai.
rudraksh kab dharan karen?
rudraksh dharan karne hetu falgun mas
men mahashivratri ka din sarvashreshth
mana gaya hai. lekin shukla paksh
ka somvar bhi shubh mana jata hai.
rudraksh dharan karne ke lie prachin
granthon men mah, paksh, var, tithi, lagn,
nakshatra v muhurtanusar varnan prapt
hota hai jo pathkon ki suvidha hetu
is lekh men prastut hai.
rudraksh dharan karne hetu mah:
rudraksh dharan karne hetu shastron men
ashvin, kartik mas sarvashreshth mane
gaye hain. margashirsh v falgun madhyam
v asharh tatha shravan adham mane
gaye hain. iske viprit bhadrapad, paush
v adhikmas (malmas) ashubh mane
jate hain.
paksha: surya adhyatmik shakti ka
data hai, jabki chandra bhautikta pradan
karne vala hai. shukla paksh ko satvik
v krishn paksh ko tamsi mana gaya
hai. atah adhyatmik shaktiyon ko
prabal karne hetu krishn paksh men rudraksh
ko dharan karna chahie. sansarik
v bhautik sukh-suvidhaon ki prapti
hetu shukla paksh men rudraksh ko dharan
karna chahie.
var: ravivar, somvar, budhvar,
guruvar v shukravar shreshth var hai.
manglvar v shanivar ko rudraksh
dharan karna ashubh mana gaya hai.
tithi: dvitiya, panchmi, dashmi,
trayodshi v purnima ko rudraksh dharan
karne se shreshth v shubh fal prapt
hote hain.
lagna: mesh, kark, tula, vrishchik,
makar v kunbh lagn ko shubh mana
gaya hai.
nakshatra: rudraksh dharan karne hetu
ashvini, rohini, uttarafalguni,
hast, svati, vishakha, jyeshtha,
uttarasharha, dhanishtha v shatbhisha
ityadi nakshatra shubh mane gaye hain. in
nakshatron men rudraksh dharan karne se shreshth
v shubh falon ki prapti hoti hai.
devi bhagavat puran ke gyarhven
skandh ke anusar-
‘‘grahne vishuve ch ev sankrame ayne
yatha.
amavasya paurnamase ch punyeshu divse
api..’’
arthat kisi bhi surya-grahan, chandra
grahan, tula, makar sankranti, ayan,
shiv chaturdashi, amavasya v basant
panchmi ko rudraksh ko abhimantrit
karne ke pashchat dharan kiya ja
sakta hai.
