maun vrat bhartiya sanskriti men satya vrat, sadachar vrat, sanyam vrat, astey vrat, ekadshi vrat v pradosh vrat adi bahut se vrat hain, parantu maunavrat apne ap men ek anutha vrat hai. is vrat ka prabhav dirghagami hota hai. is vrat ka palan samyanusar kisi bhi din, tithi v kshan se kiya ja sakta hai. apni ichchaon v samay ki maryadaon ke andar v unse bandhakar kiya ja sakta hai. yah kashtasadhya avashya hai, kyonki aj ke is yug men manushya itna vachal ho gaya hai ki bina bole rah hi nahin sakta. ulta-sidha, satya-asatya vachan karta hi rahta hai. yadi kasht sahakar maunavrat ka palan kiya jae to kya nahin prapt kar sakta? arthat sab kuch pa sakta hai. kaha bhi gaya hai- ‘kasht se sab kuch mile, bin kasht kuch milta nahin. samudra men kude bina, moti kabhi milta nahi..’ jaise- jap se tan ki, vichar se man ki, dan se dhan ki tatha tap se indriyon ki shuddhi hoti hai. satya se vani ki shuddhi honi-shastron tatha rishiyon dvara pratipadit hai, parantu maun vrat se tan, man, indriyon tatha vani-sabhi ki shuddhi bahut shighra hoti hai. yah ek vilakshan rahasya hai. vrat se tatparya hai- kuch karne ya kuch n karne ka drirh sankalp. laukik evan parlaukik donon prakar ki siddhiyon ki prapti drirh sankalp se hi hoti hai. yah sansar bhi satya svarup bhagvan ke sankalp se hi prakat hua hai. maun-vrat se manushya mastishk ya man men jo sankalpa-vikalp uthte rahte hain, un par niyantran hota hai. yadi sankalpa-vikalp bhagavannishth hon to sarthak hota hai, parantu sadaiv aisa nahin hota. bhagvan ki maya shakti ka pratyaksh prabhav hai- yah jagat. manushya is sansar ki mahanatam bhautik upalabdhiyon ko prapt karne ke lie hi nana prakar ke sankalpa-vikalp karta rahta hai. faltah man ki chanchlta nirantar bani rahti hai. jitne kshan man kamna (sankalpa-vikalpa)- shunya ho jata hai utne kshan hi yog ki avastha rahti hai. maun-vrat dvara nishchit rup se man ko sthir kiya ja sakta hai. rinatmak urja ko dhanatmak urja men parivartit kiya ja sakta hai. maun-vrat rakhne se bhautik kamnaon se mukti ke sath-sath paraspar anavashyak vad-vivad se bhi bacha ja sakta hai. rag aur dvesh par to vijay mil hi jati hai. jitne samay tak sadhak maun-vrat rakhta hai, utne kal tak asatya bolne se mukt rahta hai. sath hi man tatha indriyon par sanyam rahne se sadhn-bhajan men saflta milti hai. bhajan men ekagrata evan bhav ka adhik mahatva hai. bhav siddh hone par kriya gaun tatha bhav pradhan ho jata hai. maun-vrat se atmabal men bahut adhik vriddhi hoti hai. sansar men anek prakar ke bal hain yatha-sharirik, arthik, saundarya, vidya tatha pad (saÿaa) ka bal. laukik drishti se uparyukt sabhi prakar ke bal apna mahatva rakhte hain, parantu atm bal in sabhi balon men sarvopri hai. abhautik aur jagtik sabhi prakar ki unnati ke lie atm bal ki param avashyakta hoti hai. maun-vrat se atm bal men nirantar vriddhi hoti hai. manushya satya vastu ki or barhta hain bhagvan satyasvarup hain aur unka vidhan bhi satya hai. sharir, dhan, rup, vidya tatha saÿaa ka bal manushya ko madandh kar deta hai. inmen se ek bhi bal ho to manushya dusre logon ke sath anitimay vyavhar karne lagta hai. jara sochen, jinke pas ye panchon bal hon uski gati kya hogi! maun-vrat hi aisa sadhan hai jisse vyakti svasth ho sakta hai. maun vrat ke palan se vani ki karkashata dur hoti hai, mridu bhasha ka udgam banta hai. antratma men sukh ki vriddhi hoti hai fir vishay ka tyag karta hua jivan ke advitiya ras bhagavad ras ko prapt karne lagta hai. sadhak ko maun-vrat ke palan men andar tatha bahar se chup hokar nishthapurvak ekant men rahakar bhagvan nam-jap karna chahie. aisa karne se hi atm bal men vriddhi tatha nam-jap men kai guna siddhi prapt hoti hai. pratyek sadhak ko din men ek ghante, saptah men ek din ekant vas kar maun-vrat dharan kar bhagavadbhajan karna chahie. yah bara hi shreyashkar sadhan hai. yun bhi sadhak ko niyamit jivan mane nutna hi bolna chahie jitna avashyak ho. apriya satya nahin bolna chahie. nirantar nishtha purvak bhagavannam jap se vaksiddhi ho jati hai. maun-vrat ka palan bahut savdhani purvak karna chahie. prachin samay men hamare rishi-muni maun-vrat tatha satya bhashan ke karan hi vaksiddh the. yadi hamari indriyan tatha man chalayman rahen to maun-vrat palan karna chalava matra hi rahega. mul rup se vani sanyam to avashyak hai hi, kintu usse bhi adhik avashyak hai chiÿa vriÿiayon ka sanyam. chiÿa vriÿiayon ka sanyam hi vastav men mukhya maun-vrat hai. yah sadhnavastha ki uchchabhumi hai jahan pahunchakar brahmanand, parmanand, atmanand ki svatah anubhuti hone lagti hai. atah dhire-dhire vak sanyam ka abhyas karte hue maun vrat ki maryada men pratishthit hone ka prayatn karna chahie.
