bachche tatha uske mata-pita dvara kie gae purva janm ke dushkrityon se sanchit shishu ki janmakalik krur grah sthiti adi ko risht ya arisht kaha gaya hai. risht tatha arisht ka arth shabdakosh ke anusar shubh aur ashubh hai, kintu ayu nirnay men iska arth ashubh yog hi hai. in risht yogon men se kuch risht yog keval shishu ko, kuch shishu ki mata ko, kuch pita ko, kuch pita aur shishu donon ko, kuch mata-pita aur shishu tinon ke lie kashtakarak ya maranaprad mane gaye hain. kuch aise bhi risht yog hain jo shishu ke bhai-bahan, dada-dadi, nana-nani, mama-mami, sas-sasur, sala, devr-devrani adi ke sath anya bandhuon ke sath bhi jatkkaron ne ashubh mane hain. jatkkaron ka manna hai ki shishu apni kayik aur mansik param komlta ya durbalata ke karan mrityu pravan prani hai. atah iske tin varshon men bina arisht ke bhi vah mar sakta hai. atah shishu ki ayu ke pratham tin varshon ko shishu ke lie dustar mana hai. unka mat hai ki uski janmakalin grahasthityadi se uski jivnavdhi ko tin varsh ki ayu tak ‘idmitthama’ nishchit nahin kiya ja sakta. is prakar unhonne tin varsh ki ayu ho jane par hi shishu ki janmapatri banane ka daivagya ko paramarsh diya hai. apni jatak chandrama par shubh grah drishti nahin hone se bhi jatak ki shighra mrityu hoti hai. shishu ka saptah ayu yog: shri kalyan varma ne saravli men arisht yog bataya hai ki yadi chandrama saptam bhav men granthon men varnit hain jinmen janm shishu tatha uske sanbandhiyon ke lie kasht evan mrityu karak bataya gaya hai. in kalon ko bhi risht ki koti men mana jata hai. iske atirikt janmakalin vajrapat, vatya, ulkapat, bhukanp, dhumketu uday adi asankhya apshkun bhi risht mane gaye hain jinmen janm lena shishu ke lie arisht batlaya gaya hai. kisi bhi prakar ke arisht yog ka faladesh karne se pahle jatak granthon men (brihajjatak adi) arisht yogon ke bhang (parihar) ka bhi puri tarah se manan kar len.
