Leukemia is malignant proliferation of white cells in blood, commonly known as blood cancer. The disease attacks the bone marrow, lymph glands and spleen which are instrumental in production of blood and immunity of the body. The following factors are important for astrological diagnosis of this disease.
1. Karaka planets a. Mars and Moon rule blood. b. Mars in karaka of bone marrows c. Rahu is karaka of all types of cancer.
2. Signs and houses a. Watery signs – Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces rule blood. b. 4th, 8th and 12th houses rule the blood system.
3. Hence if Mars and Moon, the watery signs and the houses mentioned above are afflicted by malefic planets, there will be disease related to blood. And if this affliction is caused by Rahu, the native may suffer from blood cancer.

1. Mars and Moon are afflicted by Rahu.
2. Watery signs Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces are afflicted by Rahu.
3. The 4th house is afflicted by Rahu, 8th house by Ketu and Mars, 12th house by Saturn and Rahu. Thus the planets, the signs and the house ruling blood are all afflicted by malefics and the karaka of bone marrow afflicted by Rahu.
4. The lagna is hemmed between malefics ketu and Mars, Venus the lord of lagna and 8th house is hemmed between malefics Sun and Rahu, and aspected by malefic Mars. All these suggest week physical constitution and immunity. Going through the planetary periods, it is found that i. The child was first taken ill in the period of Saturn Rahu-Venus which lasted from 28.09.1988 to 19.03.1999. Rahu was transiting into Cancer sign during this period. ii. He died during the period of Saturn- Jupiter Venus which lasted from 1.1.2001 to 05.06.2001. Jupiter is conjoined with Rahu in the birth chart. Thus the chief malefic planet in this case was Rahu.
