• ƒAries-Scorpio, Taurus-Libra, Gemini-Capricorn, Cancer-Sagittarius, Leo-Pisces and Virgo-Aquarius. These are friends and their Six-Eight (Shadashtaka) position is advisable. But if the planets are mutual enemies, then it is not advisable.
  • ƒMatching is considered favourable if the Janma Rashi of the girl is odd and of the boy it is even and sixth. For instance, Bhakoota dosha gets nullified if the Janma Rashi of the girl is Aries and of the boy it is Virgo and sixth. Bhakoota Dosha gets nullified here since Virgo is an even Rashi.

Second-Twelfth, ninth-fifth and sixth-eighth are considered inauspicious and so unadvisable. Bhakoota Dosha is cancelled if the lord of the Rashis of both the boy and the girl happens to be one and the same. In the following situations Bhakoota Dosha gets nullified :

  1. 1.If the lord of the Rashis of the two is one and the same.
  2. 2.If the lords of the Rashis are friends.
  3. 3.If the lords of the Rashis are first and seventh.
  • For instance, if Taurus is the Rashi of the girl and Libra of the boy and the lord of both the Rashis is Venus and the situation is 6/8. Inspite of all this the Bhakoota matching is auspicious.
  • Take one more example. The Janma Rashi of the girl is Cancer and Sagittarius is of the boy. The situation of both is 6/8. But the Moon being the lord of Cancer and Jupiter of Sagittarius are friends. So, the Dosha of 6/8 Bhakoota gets rectified.
  • Likewise, 6/8 Bhakoota Dosha gets cancelled if there are the following combinations of Rashis:
  • Boy

The girl proves to be auspicious for her parents and in-laws if the lord of seventh house is posited in seventh house, lord of fifth house in fifth and Jupiter and Venus are posited either in kendra or trikona and are aspected by benefic planets.

(Shadashtaka) Bhakoota Dosha is a Mahadosha because sixth house signifies enmity and the eighth represents death. Disputes, enmity, difference of opinion are possible in the life of both the partners if their Rashis are in sixth or eighth house. It has been noticed that the Rashi posited in sixth or eighth house instigates the native to commit suicide or murder. This is why the Six-Eight (Shadashtaka) Dosha is considered to be

Mahadosha. This Dosha should always be avoided.

    Horoscope Matching

Today “Horoscope matching” has become the indispensable part of Hindu marriage. But it has not been mentioned in any old Jataka scripture of Astrology. However, it has been described in the Muhurta scriptures of the same. In Ramayan, marriage of Rama, Bharata, Lakshmana and Shatrughna has been described elaborately. But, in this great epic also Horoscope matching has not been mentioned. Likewise, in Mahabharata, too, it has not been cited. Therefore, it can be said that Horoscope matching in Astrology was not in practice a few centuries ago. But, the community accepted and made it an indispensable part keeping its usefulness in view.
