of the Rashi lords (where moon is placed in the horoscope) in their horoscopes. If the Rashi lords of both the girl as well as boy are friends, then many potent doshas present in other components of Ashtakoota Milaan is over shadowed. It is conceived that Gana Dosha, Bhakoota Dosha and other sundry doshas lose their importance and maleficence if there is friendship between the Rashi lords of both the boy and the girl. So, Grah-Maitri is the most important aspect of Kundali Milaan.

In the present scenario, Grah Maitri Milaan is considered very important keeping in view the space, time and character. Now a days mostly both the boy and the girl are well educated, independent and financially self dependent. So, in Match-making it is essential to consider and determine whether there is similarity between their nature and personality or not. If it is not so fighting, difference of opinion, court cases and divorce like things are bound to occur.

Example : In the example horoscope, Sun is the Rashi lord of the boy and Venus is the Rashi lord of the girl. Both these Rashi lords are inimical to each other, so in Grah-Maitri Milaan 0 point will be given.

Horoscope Matching

Today “Horoscope matching” has become the indispensable part of Hindu marriage. But it has not been mentioned in any old Jataka scripture of Astrology. However, it has been described in the Muhurta scriptures of the same. In Ramayan, marriage of Rama, Bharata, Lakshmana and Shatrughna has been described elaborately. But, in this great epic also Horoscope matching has not been mentioned. Likewise, in Mahabharata, too, it has not been cited. Therefore, it can be said that Horoscope matching in Astrology was not in practice a few centuries ago. But, the community accepted and made it an indispensable part keeping its usefulness in view.
