Yoni Koota 7.

In astrological terms yoni of each individual is decided on the basis of birth nakshatra. Yoni matching is done in order to see whether both the partners are sexually compatible to each other or not. There should be similarity between the yonis of both the boy and girl otherwise their conjugal life may face problems and setbacks.

Yoni koota is mainly concerned with the sex life of the couple. There must be a compatibility between both of them so far as their sex life is concerned. It is checked in all the horoscopes but is it is considered essential for the Shoodras. If the Yoni of the Boy and the girl are not friendly, the relations between the husband and wife may not be satisfactory. Various Nakshatras represent different Yonis' of the animals and birds so that Yoni matching may be done on the basis of their friendliness or enmity. If the Yoni of the boy and the girl are the same, full 4 points or gunas are allotted, if they are friendly 3 points or gunas are allotted, if they are neutral to each other, 2 points or gunas are allotted, if they are mutual enemies 1 point or guna is allotted and if they are bitter enemies then no point or guna is allotted.

Yoni also tells about the mental disposition, taste or liking and nature of the prospective girl and boy. It denotes their behaviours, conduct and thinking. There are 14 types of Yoni. Every Nakshatra has a Yoni. Abhijit Nakshatra is also included in Yoni Koota Milaan. Thus, all the 28 Nakshatras have been assigned a Yoni.

The names of different Yonis are as follows:

  1. 1.Ashwa (Horse)
  2. 2.Gaja (Elephant)
  3. 3.Mesha (Sheep)

Horoscope Matching

Today “Horoscope matching” has become the indispensable part of Hindu marriage. But it has not been mentioned in any old Jataka scripture of Astrology. However, it has been described in the Muhurta scriptures of the same. In Ramayan, marriage of Rama, Bharata, Lakshmana and Shatrughna has been described elaborately. But, in this great epic also Horoscope matching has not been mentioned. Likewise, in Mahabharata, too, it has not been cited. Therefore, it can be said that Horoscope matching in Astrology was not in practice a few centuries ago. But, the community accepted and made it an indispensable part keeping its usefulness in view.
