Travelling means to go out of home for some purpose. There are four types of travelling:

  • Travelling daily to one's working place or to purchase some articles from the market.
  • Travel out of city to attend some function.
  • Travel to some holy places or distant places for holidays or pilgrimages.
  • Travel to foreign country or countries.

Daily travelling can be indicated by the ithasala between Lagna Lord and 3rd Lord and their houses. The 3rd lord or lagna lord should be in movable signs in Rashi chart or Navamsha chart.

Travel out of city to attend some function is indicated by Lagna, 3rd and 7th house and their Lords.

Travel to hill stations or Holy places is indicated by Lagna, 9th and 10th house and their Lords.

Travel to foreign countries is indicated by 3rd, 7th, 9th and 12th houses and their Lords.

In general Lagna indicates long or short journey according to long or short period of Lagna. 7th house indicates the place of journey and return there from; 4th house indicates result of journey and arrival; 10th house indicates the object of journey and the idea of travelling; 3rd house indicates short journey and 9th house indicates short long journey.
